A few of my favorite things

Messisah College sign
I can honestly and enthusiastically say that this place called Messiah College is one of the lovelier things in my life. Besides the physical beauty of campus — peaceful creek, rustic covered bridge, terrific landscaping — the individuals who populate this campus by day and by night are among the kindest, most professional, others-oriented people you’ll ever care to meet. You should work here. You should go to school here. You should plan a picnic down by the creek this spring. You should visit the Oakes Museum and the Aughinbaugh Art Gallery. You should take in a play, a movie, a concert, a lecture, or even a just a cup of coffee in the student union.

David Crowder Band
Ok…I admit it. I’m a David Crowder Band junkie. It started somewhat innocently. I attended a National Youth Workers’ Convention in Pittsburgh in October 2006. DCB lead worship. Within a few months (at most), I had every CD. My husband and I are now full-fledged Crowder fans. We’re suckers for a well-played keytar, we anxiously await the bluegrass portion of the evening, and we crank “You Are My Joy” to unreasonable decibel levels in the car. So, go out and buy a DCB album or two; it might could be a beautiful collision.

Honda Element
Meet the Honda Element. I would argue that it’s fun, fiesty, functional, and, yes, a little boxy. But, how can you not love this car? XM radio. Rear seats that suspend from the ceiling to leave plenty of room for bikes, fishing gear, luggage, snacks. Stadium-seating in the back. Mine is magnesium in color and oozing personality. Long live the Element!

Me and Jeff on our wedding day
I can’t talk about my favs without mentioning this guy. Meet Jeff. Quality Assurance Analyst. Oldest child. Messiah grad. Fisherman. Wicked good Trivial Pursuit player. Cyclist. All around good guy and fabulous husband.
