Well, after all those years of being one of those unguided English majors who scowled at the idea of teaching English...it appears that the scowl remained more true than my recent foray into the art of traditional teaching. I have left my postition as English teacher in the NYC Fellows program to pursue something a little more up my alley.

I've taken an Americorps position in Anchorage, Alaska and will be teaching swimming and water safety in rural Alaska this coming summer. Right now I'm helping out in the before/after school programs run by my organization, Camp Fire USA, Alaska Council.

SO! I'm no longer posting at sarahinthebronx as, well, Sarah is no longer in the Bronx. I am still blogging down my after-college adventures though and you may now find them at kangaroopants.blogspot.com.

That is all.

Peace and love,
sarah in anchorage

Just wanted to let any readers know that I not only found a job, but it's here in PA! I'm now the Reference and Instruction Librarian at Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies. The name is a mouthful, but it's nice to have it under my signature. "PSGV" is in Malvern, PA--just to the west of Valley Forge and about 1.5 hours from Messiah College. I started Feb 2.

Send me an email if you like, tpeterr [at] gmail (dot) com.

Thanks for everyone's prayers. I heard that one of the students has come back to Tunghai now. The secretary in the International Business department says that she lost a leg and uses a wheelchair, but "she still smiles often."

Good Morning,

Thanks for this opportunity. I hope to have two students propose papers. Any idea when this year's information about deadlines will be available.

Thanks,
Marie Conn

Hello. I'm coming this fall as a freshmen and I'm looking for a job on campus. My major is Graphic Design. So I have worked with websites in the past. Although I am not an expert, I learn quick, and I can definately update websites with photos and videos.

"Intertext" or "The Intertext"-- perhaps, it ends up being a bit to bland, but plays on idea of a blog as INTERnet TEXT and the intertextuality of the site's loose and discussion based form.

btw i like what you're doing here with the blog, it's nice.

"All Things English" I know it's a bit late for an entry, but I thought I would send in my two-cents anyway. I miss the department. Hope everyone's doing well. The Queen says hello, so does Willy, but Harry's off again being a naughty ginger.

Cheers!
