What's New in Engineering

The Department of Engineering has received news of several $1000 scholarships available through the Society of Women Engineers. These scholarships are available to female engineering students at any level of study. Jessica Snyder at SWE Philadelphia writes:

“The Philadelphia Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is proud to offer several $1,000 scholarships each year to local engineering students. We would like to encourage as many students as possible to apply for our scholarships.”

A scholarship application, including more information about the scholarships themselves, is available for download in Microsoft Word format or PDF format. Applications must be postmarked by February 28th.

Beginning this month, Dr. Randall (Randy) Fish, our new electrical engineering professor, is transitioning into the role of Chair of the Department of Engineering. Randy comes to us with many years of teaching and leadership experience at Eastern Nazarene College, and we are excited to have him with us.

Randy will be taking the place of Carl Erikson, who has served faithfully in the role of Department Chair since 2004. Carl will continue to teach within the Department of Engineering, but he is thankful for a well-deserved break from administrative duties. Many thanks to Carl for his years of service.
