April 2007

MEB Day and NewsSteve on 30 Apr 2007 12:04 pm

I personally would like to congratulate our 2007 senior class for an outstanding job on the Senior Design Project Presentations this year. I was impressed by the overall quality of the presentations, especially with regard to professionalism. I know I’m speaking for not only myself but many others in the department as well.

A special congratulations goes to the Renewable Energy Sensor Package project team for winning the 2007 ISA Award. The ISA award is given annually to the project team which the Department of Engineering together feels has made the best use of instrumentation and measurement. The award is sponsored by the Central Keystone section of the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society, and includes not only a plaque but also a $500 stipend which is split among the award recipients. Congratulations to Cameron Hess, Justin Kelly, and Jonathan Shambeda for being the 2007 winners!

Since the webcast on Friday, I’ve had a couple people ask me if the project presentations will be re-broadcast and/or will be available in another format. The bad news is that we can’t rebroadcast the webcast because it was a live webcast only. (We didn’t record it as it was in progress.) The good news is that we did have a separate video camera running which recorded all the presentations.

I’ll be working on a DVD compilation of the presentations which will be available to students, parents, and probably others who would like a copy. If you would like to request a copy of this DVD, please let us know by sending an email to Engineering@messiah.edu. Be sure to include your name & address, otherwise we won’t be able to send you anything!

Thanks again for watching.

The 4th Annual MEB Scholarship Day is finished. It was a day full of interesting presentations and celebration of students achievement. We’ve had fun, but we’re glad it’s over, since it was so much work!

Thank you for watching and a special thank you to those who asked questions. The students are really encouraged when they see feedback come back from the internet, because then they know you are watching.

See you next year!
