Welcome! In this blog I’ll try to share what’s happening in my world and in the work I’m about at Messiah College. And that work is both about teaching (coming this Fall) and in helping administer the College’s Harrisburg Institute (where I’m the Director).
Story-wise, I came to Messiah College from Haviland, Kansas where I had served as the President of Barclay College — a small evangelical Friends (Quaker) Bible College. (I suspect that I’ll provide a post or two about this experience as time goes by.)
On the family side, I’m married (I think happily, but Mary may think otherwise) with three children. We live between the College (in Grantham, PA) and Harrisburg, PA — close enough to both so that a commute either way is easy.
This blog will try to stay current (a first priority) and relevant (probably even more difficult) to the theme of dreams and bones, of the world we hunger for and the reality of our everyday lives. I suspect you’ll get some ranting (the bones) and, hopefully, enough dreaming to keep the tempo more than a dirge. Time will tell if I’m able to handle this two-fold objective. Perhaps you can spur me on?
Thanks for being here.
Dr. Dave
