J-term break is from Thursday, January 26 to Sunday the 29th. Classes will begin on Monday, January 30th. Have a safe break!

Break Fitness Center Hours

The fitness center will be open during the following hours during January break:
Wednesday, Jan. 25: 6 AM-6 PM
Thursday, Jan. 26: 7-9 AM, 11 AM-1 PM, 4-6 PM
Friday, Jan. 27: 7-9 AM, 11 AM-1 PM, 4-6 PM
Saturday, Jan. 28: CLOSED
Sunday, Jan. 29: CLOSED

The fitness center will operate under the following hours during the spring semester (beginning Mon. Jan. 30):
Sundays: 2 -10 PM
Mondays and Wednesdays: 6-8 AM, 9-10:15 AM; 11:15 AM-11 PM
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 6-9:30 AM, 10:30 AM-11 PM
Fridays: 6-8 AM, 9-10:15 AM; 11:15 AM-6:30 PM

SAB Souper Bowl Party!

Yup, you read that right…. get ready for the SOUPER Bowl on Feb 5th starting at 5:30pm in the Union! Bring your friends and enjoy a night of free soup tasting, corn bread, drinks and an Atlanta Falcons vs. New England Patriots match-up! The event starts at 5:30pm and the game starts at 6:30pm!

 Creative Drive Drawing Class!

Are you the type of person who can only draw a stick figure person and a snowman? Then this drawing class is for you! On Thursday, Jan. 19th, at 7:15pm in B130 Creative Drive is offering a free drawing class, which is open to any Messiah College student.

Creative Drive is a club that aims to help develop creative-thinking skills in order to live a fuller life, prepare for any future career, and appreciate the creative abilities that God has given us. Common activities include coloring, watching TED talks, using Play-doh, and playing fun games. The club will meet every Thursday evening at 7:15 for the remainder of the semester, and we would love to have you join!

MLK week and Campus Entrance

South Entrance Closing at Railroad January 18th- February 1st- UPDATE

*****UPDATE*****

We previously reported the railroad crossing would be closed between January 18th and February 1st for work done by Norfolk Southern.

They have now changed the dates for the closing to be between January 23rd and February 3rd. The crossing will NOT be closed the entire time but we are not sure of the exact dates of closure as that will be driven by weather.  Detour signs will be posted to help navigate around the closure.

Please refer to the campus map attached to help with entering and exiting campus during this time.

It’s the college’s goal to reflect on the vision and Christian ministry of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for the purpose of encouraging and cultivating a deeper commitment to be God’s agents of justice, peace and reconciliation. ACDA Hymn Sing

Tired of J-Term?? Then join us on Thursday, January 12th for a good old fashion hymn sing. That’s right, invite your friends and come down to the High Center at 7pm for a time of hymn singing with organ and piano (and even a time to request your favorite hymn). You won’t want to miss this event. Musical leadership will be provided by Mr. Eric Dundore. Mr. Dundore is the Director of Music at St. Paul’s U.C.C. in Mechanicsburg for the last 31 years and a retired public school teacher . So take a break from the books…and come sing some hymns!

MLK Service Day!

The Agape Center invites you to serve and participate in a Celebration of Unity at Bethesda Mission Youth Center on Monday, January 16th, 2017. There are no classes that day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr– and we’re taking the opportunity to serve our local community and celebrate the vision of Dr. King.

The Celebration of Unity will include activities like crafts and a photo booth and a spoken word performance by Micah Bournes about Dr. King’s vision. Student volunteers will assist with set-up, activities, and clean up– and will also actively participate in the Celebration. Lunch is provided & an orientation and reflection time will be part of the day, with the time frame of 9am to 3:30pm.

We are the custodial department on campus cleaning in the residence halls as well as the buildings in the central part of campus. Our jobs take anywhere from one to two hours a day and are done three to five days a week at various times of the day.
