Ski and Ride Club Trip!

As many of you know, last year the Ski & Ride club offered a discounted a trip to Killington for Ski & Ride members, and we are thinking about doing another trip this year. We will be meeting this Tuesday (Oct 25th) at 7:00 in Boyer 131 to decide on what we are going to do for this year’s trip.
We have had a few meetings already to discuss this. The best options are:
1). Stay at the Bethany Birches Camp cabin again and go to a mountain near that area (Vermont). The cabin worked out really well and is ideal for lodging.
2). Find an Airbnb house or two near a mountain that we want to go to and reserve them.
3). Find a mountain with a cheap lodging/lift combo for a group.
It would be awesome if people could come with suggestions to keep the meeting moving forward and to help us find a good option for this year’s trip! If you want, you can e-mail me with suggestions prior to the meeting so that we can look them over.Secondly, Night Club cards are still on sale for $184 through November 7th so get them now while they’re hot! (or cold.. I’m not sure)
Here is the info needed to do that:
•1. Go to roundtopmountainresort.com
•2. Go to the passes/cards tab and click Night Club Cards
•3. Click the blue box that reads “Select Here to Purchase Online”.
•4. The club name: 4647 and the Password: Messiah
•5. Click “See available items” under Messiah College. Select what you wish to purchase. If you’ve done this last year, just login and they should have all your info.. easy. If not make a guest file and go ahead and fill out the info.
•You will need to print and sign a release form. This can be taken to Roundtop or given to an executive.
Email Austin Kratz, Ski&Ride President, with suggestions or for more info at ak1350@messiah.edu

History Club Halloween Party!

Our second official event of the year will be the Halloween Party, on October 28th, from 7pm-9pm in the Oakes Musuem!
Please feel free to dress up for the occasion as a historical character or whatever you prefer! There will be a prize awarded to the best costume of the night! There will also be plenty of games, chances to win more prizes through a raffle, and more!

There will be food provided at the party, but this year we are asking that people contribute by bringing a snack food or dessert for the occasion! Make it Halloween themed to add to the festivities, or just bring whatever you’d like to contribute. If you are unable to bring anything, come anyways! There will be plenty of food and fun to go around! (If you are in need of a kitchen, you can contact Kayla Rollins at kr1313@messiah.edu, her kitchen will be open to those that may need it)

Be sure to invite your friends! Group costumes make for a great time! Reply to this email with your RSVP, or with any questions for concerns you may have!
We hope that you come join on us that day for some great Halloween-themed fun!

MCC Haiti Response

To the Messiah College Community,

As you know, many lives were lost and homes destroyed in Haiti during Hurricane Matthew. We write with grieved hearts and ask that you join us in prayer for the families who grieve the loss of loved ones, for health and clean water, and for shelter and food for those who are displaced.

In addition to prayer, if you would like to contribute to disaster relief efforts in Haiti and are not already connected to an organization that is providing emergency response, we’d like to offer information about Mennonite Central Committee as an option. For information about their work and to donate (bottom of the page), please visit their website here:

MCC Haiti Response

Thank you for your continued prayer and compassion.
